We Must Do Our Part

“unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.” -from Isaiah 7:9

God has power over all living things, including our very own lives. If there is anything that seems impossible, it is God who can make it happen. But this scripture, spoken by God, reminds us of our huge responsibility. If we want to receive God’s help we must have faith. First, we have to do our part by believing that God can help us. Next, we must act responsibly, and do what we can and know to do, so as to carry out that faith in our situation. Wavering from one side to another does not demonstrate faith, rather, it means we are unsure of God’s ability to help us in our need. Unfortunately, God can’t hold us up if we don’t believe He can do so. Asking for help proves our faith in God. Even if our actions did nothing to change an outcome, our faith in a God bigger than us makes all the difference. So yes, let’s help each other do our part!
