Turn Some Heads

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me?  Tell the people to get moving!  Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea.  Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.      -Exodus 14:15-16

God could have given the Israelites a bridge or an easier road to take, instead, he led them directly through the red sea.  He doesn’t always do what’s easy for us, but He does do what’s best.  That miracle at the Red Sea turned some heads!  His miracle in our situation can do the same.  It is so important to share our stories of difficulty and God’s faithfulness in our walk through the sea.  It gives purpose to our pain and grows not only us but those watching and listening.  God doesn’t give us more than we can handle with Him and He promises to use our suffering for good.  Share your stories of disappointment and pain.  Let others know God’s faithfulness in your journey through the wilderness.  God has bigger plans than we can ever imagine for those miracles He provides.

Don’t be afraid, sharing doesn’t mean you have to lay out all the details of your situation.  It may look like an encouraging conversation with someone going through something similar.  Sharing might include a long walk or a visit at the newest coffee house to catch up on life.  You can leave the personal stuff out, but be sure to tell them how things got hard and God carried you through the waters.  Let them know that you faced giant mountains that only God could move.  Show them that you were too sick to stand but now you stand taller and healthier than ever.  Share how you couldn’t imagine going one more day and here you are 2 years later.  What about that baby you lost, the heart ache and the pain may not always disappear but God makes you strong and able to keep living so that your story of God’s faithfulness can be heard by many.  God wants to turn your ashes to beauty and the only way He can is if you stand up to that wall of water and take a step through it and share your miracle on the other side.  Go turn some heads!
