Share Hope
Dear friend, Jesus heals the sick, raised the dead, gives sight to the blind, forgives sinners, and gives ears to hear! He is our hope in times of despair, our strength in times of weakness and exhaustion. He saves people from destruction and death. He pursues us, finds value in us, and never gives up on us! Stay hopeful today and keep focused on His good gifts. God can do anything!
……………This is taken from a text that I sent a good friend on a rough day. She was experiencing hard times and as I read the Bible I was told that we must encourage those who are doubting. She was tired of the fight. Wondering where God was and if He was listening to her and I just didn’t know what to say to lift her up. Until I read Luke 7. John wanted to know if Jesus was the Messiah they had been waiting for or if he should keep looking. His disciples found Jesus and asked him. Jesus responded with all of the good things He had done, telling the disciples to go back and tell John. In other words, Jesus was confirming His identity by sharing the good things He was doing. In the same way, we can confirm to our friends, who is in charge, who loves them and who is all powerful in providing for their needs, by sharing the good things that we have experienced in our life. We can share hope by sharing God’s great promises and the great things He has done for us personally, and in the life of your friends. Sometimes when people are tired they start to doubt, just like John, and when that happens we must bring them reminders, and share our hope so that they can find their way back.
Then he told John’s disciples, “Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard - the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life and the Good News is being preached to the poor”. -Luke 7:22
