Can Others See God In You?
When Moses went down from Mount Sinai carrying the Ten Commandments, his face was shining because he had been speaking with the Lord; but he did not know it. -Exodus 34:29
Being with God left an impression on Moses. People could see a difference in him when he returned from the mountain that day. Is the same true in our lives? Maybe not a glow in our faces, but do people see that we are spending time with God through our actions? Does spending time with God leave an impression on our personal lives, and are the people who know us well seeing that difference? What about the people who don’t know us, do they see evidence of us spending time with God?
When we spend time with God we must be open to living out the things we learn. The more time spent with Him the more changes we make to look more like Him in our daily living. Just like it was obvious when Moses was with God, we want it to be obvious that we know God. That may be seen in our appearance, through a glow in our smile, but it also may be seen in our actions and heard through our words. If our time spent with God was sincere and true it should always make an impact on our personal lives and leave behind a mark.
Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. -Psalm 119:105
