Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here. -2 Corinthians 5:17

The kids were playing games. As the dice were rolled, I hear an unhappy voice say, "That's not fair. I want a do-over." Have you ever just wanted a "do-over? I'm guessing most of us have longed for a second chance. Well, I have Good News! At any time, you can claim that do-over!

When we commit our life to Christ he begins a transformational do-over. Little by little we are changed. We begin to see the world around us through new eyes. The things that once excited us now make our stomachs turn as we realize the way they offend God. The sin that once held us captive is no longer a lure, but rather a thing of the past. Freedom replaces fear. Hope beams where doubt once reigned. Friendships change and relationships deepen. The more time we spend with God, the less the things of the world entice us. The people who once drove us crazy with their annoying antics are now the exact ones we want to help. Our guilt is replaced with grace and forgiveness. Our pit becomes a palace.

One other great thing about a new life in Christ is that His mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) Therefore, everyday, every moment is a chance for a do-over. God's grace goes before us allowing us to take risks, make mistakes, and yes, even fail. This new life in Christ, this second chance, is a place of peace and freedom.
