Jesus Was Tempted Too

When the Devil finished tempting Jesus in every way, he left him for a while. -Luke 4:13

The same goes for us. Satan will tempt us into being afraid, he will try to get us to put our trust in men, he will try to convince us that sin is not sin and the list goes on, for the rest of our lives! Jesus, also had this same temptation, and like the scripture states, Satan left him until the next opportunity arose. We need not be scared of this, but encouraged by what we read. First of all, Jesus, our savior and king, was tempted in every way which means that he knows everything we face. He understands the pressures and the confusion and the pain we endure through trials on this earth, and His strength is what we draw on when ours isn’t enough. The One who has done it all and managed to stand firm, is our example and strength!

We get to read real life stories of this all over in the Bible! And when the Devil has given us a break. When he has left until that next opportunity, that is our time to be reading those stories. We can find strength and confidence and encouragement learning about Jesus’ struggles on earth, especially when we compare them to our own. Some are very similar and some we will never know, but God has given us Jesus to help us through any temptation. Find your strength through the promises of scripture and apply them to your life. Keep them close to draw on in your times of need. Refuel when satan takes his breaks. And never stop believing that you are not alone.
